Real Life: June 20th - 22nd

First of all, the Geeklife numbers have increased by one. Baby Porkchop Jr. III comes home today (I believe), so give the proud 'rents a shout out, will you?

Second, was anyone else awoken in the middle of the night (say 1:30am or so) by a tremendous clap of thunder? I seriously thought I'd wake up this morning to the street over turned into a crater by some natural disaster bomb. The windows rattled. I have never been particularly scared of the weather (unless its going to mess up my hair or new shoes), but this freaked me right out. I do no approve, weather!

Third, we need food.  I have no idea what to suggest since I have no idea who's interested in attending. If everybody wants to come, that's a very different restaurant requirement that if only a few people want to come. I'd love to go to Katie's Pizza, but if there's more than 4-6 people that would be just about impossible on a Friday night. Joel suggested Square One Brewery in Lafayette Square, which might accommodate more people, and maybe that will be easier on the parking. So please post and/or call me and let me know if you're planning on joining us for dinner, by say, 6pm. Then I can call whichever place we want to try, and try to make a reservation.

Here's the plans for the rest of the weekend: Saturday - Bug & I have a cousin's 1st birthday party to attend. We'll probably be up for hanging out in the evening, especially if it involves Indian food.  The fates have been aligning to prevent this, but I shall continue in my quest till I get some Saag Paneer, darn it. Sunday - hopefully finishing the office, which again, the fates have dragged out to an unreasonable length. Stupid dumb fates.

What's your fate for this fine weekend?

I'm up for food. I was thinking about trying that Onesto Pizza place, if anyone's up for that. Hopefully some more people will chime in here, one way or the other.

I will probably be sitting out HL tonight in favor of sleep.  But perhaps not.  I'll let someone know.  Lestopher is in Little Rock, hence she will not be attending.

Ezz's sister is getting married this weekend, so we'll be occupied w/ wedding business tonight and tomorrow.  Hopefully, we will get to see the baby at some point.  Since I'm not going to dinner, you all should go eat tapas.

Katie and I are up for pizza tonight. It looks like not many people can make it, so perhaps, per Prof. Hotpants' suggestion, we should try getting into Katie's Pizzeria. If not, we're game for trying Onesto, too.

Saturday day: we're hoping to drop by E&B's to see the newest geek on the block. Saturday night: not sure, but we were pondering going to Revival.

Sunday day: workin' workin' workin'... though we may try to sneak in some pool action, too. Sunday night: Dinner with the family.

By the way, Katie and I were still up during last night's thunder... and now, as I write, it's also thundering, but it sounds super fake... like there are some Foley artists outside the window waving big tin sheets.

Looks like a super small group tonight... should we try Katie's?

That thunder did, in fact, wake me up.

I'm prolly gonna sit tonight out in favor of baby seeing and more cleaning/unpacking.

Tomorrow: unpacking, cleaning, Indian food?

rinse and repeat.

I just saw the baby and I must say it's rewarding. He's very tiny, with tiny fingernails and toes and eyelashes and everything. Also, he yawns, which is just about cute enough to make your heart skip a beat.

This eve's HL does seem relatively small. Let's go to Katie's then. Bug & I are in, as is Adam & Katie. Pickula, what say you?

Sounds good. Unless we hear from the Count before we leave, we'll get a table of four (if we get there first). See you at 7:30.

I can't wait to see the little yawns... I bet he yawns whenever Brad cracks a joke.
